The Drug & Bug Screen was born from an idea sparked by a near accident while on a family holiday. Whilst lounging in Majorca my wife Jacqueline casually outstretched her arm in what seemed like slow motion to me and grasped hold of an already opened drinks can. Considering thirst before safety and blinded by the brilliant sun shine she hadn’t noticed the wasp half in and half out of the can, I did and grabbed her arm stopping this potentially lethal situation from progressing.

Over lunch we developed an idea and spent the rest of the holiday designing and developing a safety device for such situations, the Drug & Bug Screen was born. It took some six years from conception, through the Patent process which was approved and granted and finally to the market place. The Drug & Bug screen is a simple food grade plastic insert that clips under the open ring pull of a drinks can protecting the contents from contamination. |
The screen offers protection against bee and wasp sting to the throat and mouth. Anyone who suffers allergic reaction to insect stings can now enjoy parties, barbeques and festivals knowing nothing nasty has crawled into their drink. The screen naturally offers can protection at any time when at work or play.
Drinksafe Ltd was set up to promote and distribute the screen. It is a family run business with huge ambitions in pursuing our dream to succeed. There is something very special in creating an innovative product from a simple idea created by chance and finally after all of the hard work seeing it on the market place, a dream come true.
